Surrounded by a vibrant mix of eateries and bars, well served by public transport, close to on-street parking and 24 hour carparks, within walking distance of the famed Abbey Theatre and Savoy Cinema, Dublin’s oldest operational cinema and venue of major film premieres, we are perfectly situated to host your event, be it a literary launch or anniversary, panel discussion, conversation, workshop, lecture or just an opportunity to get people together to talk about books!

Event Guidelines at Chapters

Our floor space is extensive and can hold up to 200 people in a mixture of seating and standing. For theatre-style seating we can accommodate 50 people comfortably in different areas and for a more informal, bistro style around tables we like to cap at 40 and use the main front hall. We supply seating for 50, any remaining audience will be standing, or the organiser will need to supply furniture.

We also have a range of areas that can be used – ‘rooms’ within the room to change the ambience from airy and bright, to cosy and intimate.

For ‘After Hours’ events, we need confirmation from organiser of a minimum expected attendance of 30 people to cover our costs. We supply space and staff free of charge in exchange for selling books. For book launches, we usually order stock via our standard wholesalers, but we are delighted for the organiser/publisher to supply books direct on the condition that all unsold stock is removed at end of the event. Any additional ongoing stock required will generally be ordered from our own suppliers.

We like to open all events to customers and will support with postings on social media, I.e., Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, via our website and mailing lists and also through press releases to our media contacts. We are happy to encourage interest for the event by running competitions, giveaways, or promotions, if the organiser can confirm support in time for these to be implemented.

Wine, beer, and refreshments can happily be served, but the organiser must cover the cost of this, either by supplying directly or based on an agreed budget. Glasses we will supply. We do not have arrangements in place presently to provide food or canapes but can arrange table space if needed.

‘After Hours’ @ Chapters can be ran on any evening but need to finish at 10pm latest. Our doors close at 6pm, so set up for your event starts then. If you would like to put POS instore before the event, please let us know what materials and when you will be supplying them, so that we can maximise their impact.

As we will be holding monthly events ourselves, if you have an idea for something, please feel free to get in touch and we will see if can pool resources and have a joint endevour!
